Iron ore pellets are the raw-materials are formed by mixing fine-grain sized (-0.075 mm) iron ore with bentonite (0.8%), followed by pelletizing and induration processes. Pellets are used in the steel making process by melting in the blast furnaces.
Desired grain size: 8 - 16 mm.
They are the semi pellets products which are obtained during the pelletizing process. They are using in the sintering plants as iron ore because of the high Fe grade and low impurities.
The filter cake is obtained by crushing, grinding and separating the iron ore. It is in the fine grained size (-0,075 mm) magnetite form. It is the main raw material for the pelletizing process.
The magnetite (Fe3O4)ore cannot be used in the blast furnaces and sintering plants directly .ore is not directly because of the high sulfur content. Sulfur and alkalines are reduced by using ore preparation process , pellets are formed by crushing, grinding, separating and induration processes.
This ore is a mixture of hematite (Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4). This kind of ore, which is formed by crushing process, is used in the blast furnaces and in the sintering plants.
