Erdemir Maden aims to improve its employees' knowledge and skills and continuously invests in its competent, participatory and innovative workforce. We are committed to offering professional and personal development opportunities at every stage. Accordingly, we organize training sessions for employees in a wide range of fields including professional/technical training, on-the-job training, occupational health and safety, personal development, leadership, teamwork, etc.
With the internship opportunities it provides, Erdemir Maden helps prospective professionals to improve their professional knowledge and gain experience in a corporate environment. As part of our university-industry partnership initiatives, university students in their final year of study are provided internship opportunities during the summer, so that they can better adapt to professional life.
The professional competences of blue-collar employees at various units of our Company have been certified in accordance with the "Regulations on the Vocational Training of Employees in Dangerous and Highly Dangerous Jobs". Based on a series of protocols we have signed, training sessions that include both theory and practice are held, and attendants are granted vocational certificates approved by the Ministry of Education.
Erdemir Maden is committed to providing a healthy and safe working environment for its employees. The workplace healthcare unit provides uninterrupted services such as preventive medicine, pre-employment examinations, periodic examinations, efforts to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, and therapy follow-up of employees on rest. Beyond legal requirements, Erdemir Maden offers social platforms where employees can come together and improve their social standards. Employees' need for shuttles, lunch, cleaning and logistics are met around the clock.
Efforts initiated in 2007 to establish an occupational health and safety system have resulted in the issuance of an OHSAS 18001(WHS) İSG Management System certificate in December 2009.
Although the new Occupational Health and Safety Law numbered 6331 introduced the concept of sub-employers, training on various risks are held for everyone working for Erdemir Maden, regardless of whether they are sub-employees or employees, with a view to promoting an awareness about safety. In 2014, 6,600 man-hours of occupational health and safety training was provided to our own employees, as well as to sub-employers' employees.
In order to contribute to the professional development of employees and help them keep up with advances in technology, Erdemir Maden offers opportunities to learn about the products and technologies of various domestic and international companies. In this context, employees attend national and international events such as the Human Resources Summit, the Quality Congress, the Ankiros Exhibition and the Win Fairs.
